Ready or not, here i come

...A sunny playground in a Moscow neighborhood. A pretty young woman sitting aside from other moms is reading a book glancing up from time to time at her 5-year-old son running about. He has covered his eyes with his hands and is counting loudly, “One, two, three, four, five… Ready or not, here I come…” The boy opens his eyes but his mom is not there, just a book lying by the bench. Boy is screaming, “Mommy, where are you? Mommy!”

This is the first case in investigation of which Rita Vysotskaya is going to take part.

Rita, a psychology department graduate, joins the Investigation Unit of the Department of Internal Affairs. The job choice has not been a random one. Her motivation is not only to serve people. She has her own secret, her own drama, as well; she does not know who she is and where she comes from. As a teenager she was found at the car accident site. Rita suffered complete amnesia back then and now she would give anything just to remember who she is and literally find herself.

In the local DIA she meets her two team members, brothers Mikhail and Denis. They are true professionals second to none. Denis’ common sense compensates for Mikhail’s daredevilry. With Rita’s appearance in the brothers’ lives, they are in for big changes.

The team’s first success is finding the woman who has disappeared from the children’s playground and now other search-and-rescue cases are waiting for them. Trying to untangle intricacies of other people’s lives, speculating and comparing, Rita won’t remember her past. However, she will develop a strong feeling for one of the brothers that might not be able to compensate for her memories but might prove that it is possible to start a new life.
