Shooting on Robinson, New Large-Scale Project by RWS, Began

Robinson follows the story of naval officers, their wives and children, of military honor, heroism and simple human weaknesses. The film begins in 1985. Sasha Robertson, Lyosha Balunov and Vova Titov, the boys who dream of becoming officers in the Navy, live in a small northern town. K-963 submarine where their fathers serve leaves for a NATO training area on a secret mission, to find out and record the noise spectrum (the so-called acoustic portrait) of Robinzon_2.jpgthe latest almost noiseless US submarine. In the meantime the boys playing in a deserted factory and pretending to be submarine sailors fall into a deadly trap.

Years have gone by. The friends Sasha (Igor Petrenko), Lyosha (Aleksandr Pashkov) and Vova (Ivan Stebunov) are graduating from school at the time when military service is no longer deemed that prestigious, when values are changing and submarines are going rusty with disuse… Vova leaves for Moscow and becomes an entrepreneur. Lyosha joins the naval infantry. Only Sasha still follows his childhood dream connecting his life with the sea and becoming a submariner.

The small northern town may be either a departure point for submarines leaving for the high seas or a terminal point for drug trafficking, either a starting point for hundreds of walks or a dead end. It all depends on a choice the characters will make.

Robinson by Russian World Studios is being filmed in association with the Russian Navy. Some military ships of the Russian fleet will be involved in the shooting. Many scenes will be created by first-rate computer graphics experts using state-of-the-art technologies. Large-scale naval scenes, such as an acoustic duel between a Soviet submarine and an American one, a submarine passing under the ice and icebergs, US warships attacking a Soviet submarine with depth bombs and a submarine jumping out of the water like a killer whale.

The shooting will take place in Murmansk, Severomorsk, on the Kola Peninsula, in Krasnodarsky Krai and at RWS Moscow studio facility.
